1974: 5 More Miners Hurt in South Africa Riots

WELKOM, South Africa — Intertribal rioting broke out again at the Free State gold mine during the night, with Xhosa and Basotho miners attacking one another, the police said today.

At least five miners were injured in the latest outbreak before police and mine officials brought the situation under control at midnight.
